Since its pre-sale launch at the Beijing Auto Show, the BYD Tang EV has garnered over 100,000 pre-orders as of May 7. As the first D-segment flagship SUV under BYD’s Dynasty Series, it is priced between RMB 250,000 and RMB 320,000 and is scheduled to officially launch in the first half of this year. The vehicle measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. It features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout and comes equipped with dual zero-gravity seats in the front row. The interior includes a floating central touchscreen, a passenger-side entertainment display, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen for second-row passengers. Powertrain options include both single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants, with the AWD version accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The Tang EV is powered by BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, delivering a maximum CLTC-rated range of 950 km on a single charge. It supports ultra-fast charging technology, featuring a 10C battery cell and a 1,000A charging current, enabling a theoretical peak charging power of up to 1,000 kW. Chassis highlights include the Yunniu-A intelligent air suspension system (equipped with a dual-chamber design and road preview functionality), crab-walk mode, and rear-wheel steering. The vehicle also adopts a full-domain 1,000V high-voltage electrical architecture.
