During the May 1–5, 2026 Labor Day holiday period, NIO Energy delivered over 15.43 million kWh of charging and battery-swap energy on national expressways, accounting for 16.3% of the total expressway charging and swapping volume nationwide. Across China’s network of 3,839 battery swap stations, a total of 1,031,469 battery swaps were completed, including a single-day record of 170,585 swaps on May 1—averaging one swap every 0.51 seconds. Over the holiday, NIO users collectively drove more than 566 million kilometers. More than 130,000 users traveled over 1,000 kilometers each, a 70.5% year-over-year increase, while over 220,000 users relied entirely on battery swapping for their long-distance road trips. On expressways, 75.8% of users’ energy replenishment came from battery swap services. The nationwide network of 1,035 expressway swap stations saved users a combined total of over 220,984 hours in charging wait time—20% more than during the same period last year. The top three busiest expressway swap stations by daily transaction volume were: Xianshan Service Area on the G42 Shanghai–Chengdu Expressway in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu (average 144 swaps per day); Hongze Lake Service Area on the G25 Changchun–Shenzhen Expressway in Huai’an, Jiangsu (135 swaps/day); and Huzhou Taihu Service Area on the G25 Changchun–Shenzhen Expressway in Huzhou, Zhejiang (130 swaps/day). NIO continues to advance its “Swap Station Coverage in Every County” initiative, with its swap network now spanning over 1,300 districts and counties nationwide. Full county-level coverage has been achieved in nine provincial-level regions, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Hainan. During the Labor Day holiday, battery swap transactions in county-level areas surged by 167.6% compared to the previous month. The fastest-growing counties were Jixi County in Xuancheng, Anhui; Chengkou County in Chongqing; and Shanghang County in Longyan, Fujian. Additionally, NIO has opened its entire charging infrastructure—comprising 5,010 charging stations and 28,806 charging piles—to all new energy vehicle owners. Over the holiday, more than 87% of the electricity dispensed at NIO charging stations served users of other EV brands. Meanwhile, NIO’s 85 designated “Power-on Scenic Routes” provided a total of 73,301 charging and swapping services.
