Shanghai-made Tesla Model 3 RWD Upgraded with Sunwoda Battery, Boosts Charging Speed and Acceleration, Now Cheaper in Canada

The rear-wheel-drive Standard Range version of the Tesla Model 3, manufactured in Shanghai, is now equipped with traction batteries supplied by Sunwoda Power and has been exported to the Canadian market. The upgraded model supports a maximum Supercharging power of 250 kW, up from the previous 170 kW, and its 0–100 km/h acceleration time has improved from 6.1 seconds to 5.2 seconds. In May 2026, Tesla reduced Model 3 prices in Canada, with the starting price of the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive variant dropping from CAD 79,990 to CAD 39,490 (approximately RMB 197,000), while the Performance variant now starts at CAD 74,990 (approximately RMB 375,000).
