The Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission has released the "Implementation Plan for Promoting Methanol Vehicles in Liaoning Province (Draft for Public Comment)," soliciting public feedback until May 17, 2026. The plan proposes that by the end of 2028, the province’s annual production capacity of methanol vehicles will exceed 50,000 units; leveraging its geographical advantages, Liaoning will develop a number of green methanol projects and establish itself as a hub for methanol fuel blending, trading, and application; retrofit a batch of methanol fueling stations for vehicles; and build a comprehensive methanol vehicle industry ecosystem covering “production—testing—storage and transportation—blending—sales—application—supporting industries.”
