The 2026 BYD Seagull will officially launch on May 11, becoming the first mass-produced A00-segment vehicle equipped with a LiDAR sensor. Positioned as an entry-level all-electric microcar, the new model offers five exterior colors and three interior color schemes. The Intelligent Driving variant features a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, along with a “God’s Eye B” badge and a dedicated blue indicator light on the rear. In terms of performance, the electric motor’s maximum output has been increased to 60 kW, and the high-end variant achieves a CLTC-rated range of 505 km—approximately 100 km more than the current model. For enhanced driving experience, the steering wheel and center console button layout have been optimized for better ergonomics. The Intelligent Driving version also adds dedicated steering-wheel paddles for operating driver-assistance functions and upgrades to a dual-wiper system for improved wiping performance. The high-end trim offers an optional LiDAR system, integrated with the “God’s Eye B” intelligent driving platform, enabling features such as urban navigation-assisted driving and automatic parking—functions previously found mostly in vehicles priced between RMB 200,000 and 300,000. Rumored pre-reservation prices range from RMB 65,000 to 80,000, with the LiDAR option costing an additional RMB 12,000.
