The Dongfeng Yipai M8 has appeared in the new product listing of the 407th batch of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." The vehicle measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,733 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm, and features a six-seat layout. It will be offered in both extended-range and all-electric variants: the all-electric version delivers a peak motor output of 230 kW, while the extended-range variant offers 215 kW from its drive motor and is equipped with a 1.5L engine (1,497 cc displacement, maximum power of 95 kW) supplied by Zixin Technology Co., Ltd. The M8 comes equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving System, which includes HarmonyOS Cockpit, Qiankun Vehicle Control, Qiankun Vehicle Cloud, and WhaleFin connectivity features. Externally, it features full-width front and rear light strips and mounts a roof-integrated LiDAR unit—identified by its form factor as Huawei’s Qiankun 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR. Additionally, the vehicle features at least four small blue intelligent driving indicator lights on its body. The model is scheduled to make its official debut this month.
