BYD and China Auto Rental recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement titled "Flash Charge China" in Shenzhen, along with a framework agreement for the procurement of 100,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs). Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD Group, and Yu Hongfei, Chairman of China Auto Rental, attended the signing ceremony. Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate in areas including vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure development, and building a green mobility ecosystem. BYD will deploy its latest flash-charging equipment across China Auto Rental’s nationwide service outlets to advance the implementation of the "Flash Charge China" strategy. This order for 100,000 vehicles represents one of the largest single NEV procurement deals in China’s car rental industry in recent years. China Auto Rental currently operates a fleet of over 100,000 vehicles across more than 300 cities nationwide, meaning this procurement volume is nearly equivalent to its existing total fleet size. Earlier, in April 2025, China Auto Rental had already deployed 3,000 BYD Qin PLUS DM-i units for short-term rentals and purchased nearly 30,000 BYD vehicles throughout 2025, laying a solid foundation for its full transition to new energy vehicles.
