The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has set a new lap record of 6 minutes and 55.533 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, becoming the fastest production electric vehicle currently on the track. Previously, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Yangwang U9 Xtreme held the record with times of 7:04.957 and 6:59.157, respectively. Performance enhancements on the Taycan Turbo GT stem from aerodynamic optimizations. Compared to the standard Taycan, the addition of the Weissach lightweight package and Manthey Performance Kit increases downforce from 95 kg to 310 kg at 200 km/h, with a peak downforce of up to 740 kg. This improvement enables an average speed increase of 14 km/h through the demanding Lauda-Links to Bergwerk corner sequence, cutting a full 12 seconds off the total lap time. Further refinements include titanium wheel bolts, reducing unsprung mass by 2.7 kg to enhance suspension response and road feedback. In terms of powertrain performance, the Taycan Turbo GT delivers 804 horsepower in standard mode, which can be boosted to 978 horsepower in Race mode, with peak torque reaching 1,269 N·m.
