The 43rd APEC Automotive Dialogue was held in Shanghai. A senior official from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) stated at the meeting that China will work with all APEC economies to jointly build a sustainable and equitable automotive industry ecosystem under the APEC framework, driving the global transformation and upgrading of the automotive sector. Amid deepening advances in a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence are accelerating, creating new opportunities for the automotive industry’s transformation. China will continue deepening international cooperation, adhering to open development, and fostering a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, rule-of-law-based, and internationally aligned. Wang Weiming, Director General of MIIT’s Department of Equipment Industry I, emphasized that China supports enhanced practical cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises in areas including technology, standards, investment, and trade. He also called for greater harmonization and mutual recognition of standards and regulations among APEC economies, leveraging platforms like APEC to promote global sharing of technological exchanges, talent collaboration, and innovation outcomes.
