Geely China Star Team Claims FIA TCR World Tour Title in Debut with Xingrui TCR

The 2026 FIA TCR World Tour season kicked off with its opening round held from May 8 to 10 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy. Geely China Star Racing made its global debut with the all-new Xingrui TCR race car, securing a victory in Race 2 thanks to driver Ma Qinghua, who also claimed two trophies and set the fastest lap of the entire event. Starting third on the grid in Race 2, Ma Qinghua executed a lightning-fast start and executed a crucial overtaking maneuver at Turn 10 to take the lead. He then successfully defended his position against relentless pressure from behind over the following 13 laps to cross the finish line first. This marked the Xingrui TCR’s maiden win in international competition and Ma Qinghua’s second TCR World Tour race victory, following his triumph at the Zhuzhou round in China in 2024. Built on Geely’s CMA architecture, the Xingrui TCR is powered by a Horspower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The car features extensive optimizations in braking performance, power delivery, and transmission control logic. Its extended wheelbase enhances high-speed stability, while significant improvements in wet-weather performance make it well-suited to Misano’s demanding mix of high-speed straights and heavy braking zones. According to the FIA’s Balance of Performance regulations, the Xingrui TCR competed with a minimum weight of 1,285 kg and a power output capped at 97.5%. Winning on its debut immediately validated the car’s world-class competitiveness. The 2026 FIA TCR World Tour will next visit Valencia (Spain), Le Castellet (France), Vila Real (Portugal), Inje (South Korea), and Chinese rounds in Chengdu, Zhuzhou, and Macau. Geely China Star Racing aims to build on this strong opening result as it pursues both the Drivers’ and Teams’ World Championships.
