Academician Yu Dapeng Becomes Owner of Yangwang U8; 2026 Model Priced at RMB 1.008 Million

Recently, Academician Yu Dapeng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of the Shenzhen Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering officially became an owner of the BYD Yangwang U8, the flagship model of BYD’s premium brand. Wang Chuanfu, President of BYD, attended the vehicle delivery ceremony, and Hu Xiaoqing, General Manager of Yangwang Auto, expressed gratitude for Yu Dapeng’s choice. The 2026 Yangwang U8 is priced at RMB 1,008,000, a reduction of RMB 90,000 compared to the previous model. The new vehicle features BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, offering a pure electric range of 230 km and a combined range of 1,205 km. Interior highlights include power-adjustable, heated, ventilated, and massaging seats for both front and rear passengers, a built-in refrigerator with cooling and warming functions, an air purification system, and a premium intelligent cockpit.
