Aerial footage from May 13 shows that Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas has begun production of the dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of the Cybertruck. Numerous newly built vehicles are neatly parked in the factory’s delivery staging area. Priced at $59,990, this entry-level AWD variant was unveiled at the end of February 2026, with an initial limited-time discount ending that same month. Originally scheduled to begin U.S. deliveries in June 2026, the launch was delayed to September–October 2026, and current new orders now have estimated delivery dates extending into April 2027. Visually, the entry-level AWD model is nearly indistinguishable from the higher-end trims. Meanwhile, production of the Cybercab at the Texas Gigafactory is progressing steadily. Aerial images reveal dozens of Cybercabs meeting mass-production specifications already parked in the outgoing vehicle area. Designed specifically for autonomous ride-hailing services, the Cybercab features no steering wheel or pedals. The first complete Cybercab rolled off the line in late February 2026, and volume production commenced in April. Initial units are already undergoing autonomous driving tests in areas surrounding the factory. Additionally, the facility is expanding its Optimus humanoid robot production line and upgrading its test track. Gigafactory Texas is gradually transforming into Tesla’s core R&D and manufacturing hub for next-generation vehicles. Elon Musk stated that both the Cybercab and the Semi heavy-duty truck will initially enter production at low volumes, with the goal of achieving exponential production ramp-up by year-end.
