BYD SHARK Pickup to Join Fangchengbao Lineup This Year

At the launch event held on the evening of May 13 for the BYD Yunni-P Ultra and Fangchengbao Bao 8 and Bao 5 Flash Charge Edition, Fangchengbao General Manager Xiong Tianbo announced that the BYD SHARK pickup—already launched in overseas markets—will officially join the Fangchengbao product lineup this year. Previously, Li Yunfei, General Manager of BYD Group’s Brand and Public Relations Division, stated in October 2023 that the SHARK pickup was already in the planning phase and would be introduced to the domestic Chinese market in the future. The overseas version of the SHARK is offered in GL and GS trims and comes in three exterior colors: Pallas White, Marmara Black, and Atlantis Gray. The vehicle measures 5,457 mm in length, 1,971 mm in width, and 1,925 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,260 mm. Powering the SHARK are dual motors: the front motor delivers a maximum output of 170 kW and peak torque of 310 N·m, while the rear motor produces up to 150 kW and 340 N·m of torque. The truck accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h. The SHARK is equipped with a 29.58 kWh battery pack, offering a pure-electric NEDC range of 100 km and a combined fuel-and-electric NEDC range of 840 km, with a WLTC-equivalent fuel consumption of 7.5 L/100 km under low-battery conditions. In terms of features, it includes a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, and a 12-inch HUD head-up display. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (for overseas models) and is equipped with a 360° surround-view camera system plus a 180° underbody camera, enabling a 540° ultra-wide transparent panoramic imaging function.
