NIO has begun rolling out the Aster Violet 1.5.0 software update for its Firefly all-electric compact car. This upgrade increases the motor’s peak power output from the original 105 kW to 120 kW at no additional cost—matching the refreshed model—with real-world testing showing a 50–100 km/h acceleration time of 4.61 seconds. New features include “Battery Swap Station Parking Assist,” which helps drivers position the vehicle into NIO’s fifth-generation battery swap stations. The update also enhances motor power delivery experience, displaying an animated pop-up window upon completion of the upgrade. Additionally, the front trunk unlocking method has been improved: when the vehicle is unlocked, the front hood is fully closed, the car is in Park (P), and a Bluetooth key is detected, users can now unlock the front trunk by tapping twice on the designated recognition area. This feature requires purchasing and installing the optional Flash Knock “Quick Open” electro-mechanical front trunk module.
