The Beijing Off-Road BJ40 Extended-Range Long-Range Edition will officially launch on May 21. It previously opened for pre-orders at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show with a pre-sale price of RMB 214,800. The vehicle retains its boxy "square-box" design, featuring a five-slot grille and circular LED daytime running lights, along with a rear-mounted storage kit. Inside, it comes standard with three screens: a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch central infotainment display, and a 12.8-inch passenger entertainment screen. The infotainment system is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supports AI voice interaction, and offers Level 2 advanced driver-assistance features. Powering the BJ40 is a range-extending system combining a 1.5T engine with dual front-and-rear electric motors in an all-wheel-drive layout, delivering a combined output of 403 kW and peak torque of 655 N·m, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.5 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 40.3 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated all-electric range of 252 km and a total combined range of up to 1,300 km when fully fueled and charged. It also supports fast charging, replenishing from 30% to 80% state of charge in only 13.9 minutes.
