The BAW 212 pickup truck, manufactured by Beijing Automobile Works (BAW), will be introduced to the European market through German importer Indimo Automotive, aiming to partially fill the gap in the local market for rugged off-road pickups. The vehicle targets users seeking high off-road capability, reliable technology, and everyday practicality. Exterior features include round LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, side steps, and 18-inch alloy wheels, with circular taillights at the rear. The cargo bed measures 1,555 mm in length. Overall dimensions are 5,469 mm long, 1,950 mm wide, and 1,970 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,488 mm. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. European-spec models come standard with heated and ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, synthetic leather upholstery, a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, an 8-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, metallic trim accents, and numerous physical buttons. Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 140 kW (190 hp) and 500 N·m of peak torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system, enabling a top speed of 160 km/h. The chassis features a ladder frame with solid axles and includes front, center, and rear differential locks. Ground clearance stands at 250 mm, and the truck offers multiple drive modes: Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow, Sand, Rock, Mud, Water, Hill, and Bumpy Road. Driver assistance features include cruise control, parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. The starting price in Germany is €41,995 (including 19% VAT).
