Geek+ recently partnered with Guangzhou HuaTong Toyota to complete the Phase I deployment of its PopPick goods-to-person picking solution at FAW Toyota’s South China Parts Center, automating the entire workflow—including put-away, replenishment, transfer, and order picking—for aftermarket spare parts. Operational data shows that automation coverage for fast- and medium-moving parts has increased to 48%, space utilization improved by 40%, replenishment and picking efficiency rose by 20%, and operational accuracy reached 99.99%, effectively meeting the storage and sorting demands of tens of thousands of SKUs. Leveraging AI-powered intelligent zoning algorithms and high-density vertical storage design, the system automatically identifies fast- and medium-moving parts and relocates them to optimal picking positions, minimizing delays in locating and replenishing items during peak order periods. The solution supports multiple fulfillment modes, including full-pallet, full-case, and piece-picking operations. On the storage side, 3.8-meter-high racking and a reduced bin spacing of just 20mm have quadrupled storage density, alleviating pressure from storing a wide variety of parts. During picking, robots deliver shelves directly to workstations, enabling operators to fulfill orders without moving. At dispatch, the system automatically verifies orders and integrates with existing warehouse management platforms to conduct final order checks, preventing misshipments and omissions. The warehouse manager at FAW Toyota’s South China Parts Center stated that continuous improvements will be implemented, with the goal of achieving 100% automation for fast- and medium-moving parts. A representative from Guangzhou HuaTong Toyota noted that this upgrade has not only reduced labor costs but also enhanced the timeliness of parts supply, supporting dealership operations across South China. Given the strong performance of Phase I in efficiency, cost reduction, and accuracy, Phase II will continue using the PopPick solution, focusing on end-to-end digital and intelligent transformation for small- and medium-sized parts storage, gradually expanding to more warehouse scenarios and strengthening regional spare parts supply chain capabilities.
