On May 15, Le Dao—a brand under NIO—officially launched its new model, the L80, a flagship intelligent large five-seater SUV featuring dual smart cabins. The vehicle is priced between RMB 242,800 and RMB 279,800; with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, the purchase price ranges from RMB 156,800 to RMB 193,800. The L80 is available in six exterior colors: Ridge Brown, Dawn Silver, Silent Peak Black, Snow Summit White, Nightfall Purple, and an exclusive new shade called Layered Green. Interior themes include Cassia Yellow, Cloud Beige, Obsidian Black, and Moon Banyan Brown. Measuring 5,145 mm in length with a 3,110 mm wheelbase, the L80 achieves an industry-leading cabin space utilization rate of 81.5%. NIO claims it offers the largest cargo capacity among large five-seater SUVs in the Chinese market, featuring a 240-liter intelligent electric front trunk—the largest among mass-produced vehicles in China—with an ultra-low and extra-wide opening, six opening modes, and full-area pinch-protection functionality. The rear trunk delivers a class-leading 1,200 liters of cargo volume (largest among Chinese mass-produced vehicles), expandable to 2,600 liters when the second-row seats are folded flat. Combined with the front trunk, total storage capacity reaches 2,840 liters, with a depth of 2.2 meters—enough to accommodate a standard 2-meter bed. The trunk features a dual lower-compartment design: an outer section of 106 liters and an inner section of 63 liters, creating a three-zone layout. Together with the sunken storage area, the front trunk offers 409 liters of space. The entire vehicle includes 53 storage compartments—13 in the first row and 17 in the second. The Le Dao L80 offers two intelligent driving solutions: LiDAR-based and pure vision. The LiDAR version is powered by NIO’s self-developed 5nm automotive-grade “Shenji NX9031” chip and the “NIO World Model (NWM).” The pure vision variant uses NVIDIA’s OrinX chip. All trims come standard with nine airbags, including 14L side airbags for second-row passengers and a 56L side curtain airbag spanning 2,920 mm. The vehicle also features 60 active and intelligent safety assistance functions, including an AEB system built on an end-to-end technical architecture. The intelligent ADB headlights offer a 600-meter recognition range, 350-millisecond anti-glare response, and high-precision zonal illumination. Additional features include wing-style electric running boards, silent power-closing doors on all four sides, and intelligent welcome lighting. Second-row seats offer 135-degree electric recline and come standard with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The center console houses a 17.2-inch 3K immersive display. The audio system—“Le Dao Sound”—boasts 23 speakers, 2,048 watts of power, and 24 independent channels, supporting Dolby Atmos with a 7.1.4-channel layout. The cabin is insulated with 214 acoustic damping materials covering 95% of surfaces and features ultra-quiet double-glazed windows and premium low-noise tires. In terms of performance, the L80 has a curb weight of 2,250 kg—approximately 300 kg lighter than competitors in its class—and a lightweight coefficient of 2.12. It utilizes a 72-in-1 integrated die-cast aluminum rear floor, reducing weight by 11.7 kg. The vehicle is equipped with a new lightweight ternary lithium battery pack weighing 440 kg and only 116 mm thick. The rear-wheel-drive version comes standard with a 925V high-performance permanent magnet synchronous rear motor delivering 340 kW, weighing just 79 kg and occupying 37 liters of space. It achieves a class-leading energy consumption of 14.3 kWh per 100 km and a CLTC range of 615 km. The all-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. With a minimum turning radius of 5.7 meters, the L80 also features an agile U-turn function. Additionally, the Le Dao L80 offers two intelligent systems: Coconut and Coconut+, both built on NIO’s full-vehicle operating system “SkyOS·Tianshu.” The Coconut+ version further integrates the Shenji NX9031 chip and the NIO World Model. NIO also launched a series of official accessories at launch, including a 3-person/3-bike carrier platform, a custom camping kit, a modular kitchen-dining set, and a fitted full-size bed—all compatible with the vehicle’s external power supply to support diverse outdoor scenarios.
