SAIC Audi's second AUDI-branded model, the E7X, was initially planned to start at RMB 420,000, with the top-trim version priced as high as RMB 610,000, positioning it against established premium midsize/large SUVs like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. However, the vehicle’s final pre-sale price range was announced at RMB 289,800 to RMB 379,800—over RMB 130,000 lower than originally planned, representing a reduction of more than 30%. According to the brand’s product roadmap, AUDI will launch a C-segment executive sedan next year, followed by its first flagship six-seat large SUV based on an all-new platform the year after. This SUV will target the premium segment and feature an interior designed around the concept of a “multi-functional living room,” catering to both private and business use scenarios. In terms of market strategy, the AUDI brand is pursuing a “de-premiumized” pricing approach combined with a focus on securing early access to cutting-edge intelligent technologies. To be the first to deploy Momenta’s R7 large-model-based intelligent driving system, SAIC Volkswagen paid a higher licensing fee to secure exclusive launch rights for this technology in the Chinese market, with plans to implement it on the E7X by the end of this year.
