Recently, undisguised spy photos of the BYD Dolphin plug-in hybrid variant have surfaced. The model, named Dolphin G for overseas markets, was specifically developed for Europe and is scheduled for an official launch in June, with its global public debut set for July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Dolphin G features exclusive badging on the rear and adopts a贯穿-style taillight design, continuing BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics design language and presenting a more sporty overall appearance. Its side profile employs short front and rear overhangs combined with a long wheelbase to maximize interior space utilization. The front fascia incorporates design elements from the BYD Seal, including “E-shaped” daytime running lights. Inside, the Dolphin G embraces a minimalist design theme, equipped with a large floating central touchscreen and reportedly featuring a head-up display system. Li Ke, Executive Vice President of BYD, stated that the Dolphin G is the company’s first product specifically designed for the European market. Over the next three years, BYD will carry out localized design and development tailored to European consumers’ tastes and requirements, moving away from directly introducing China-spec models into the European market.
