On May 16, during a media briefing following the launch of the Onvo L80, Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of NIO, stated that the official starting price of the Onvo L80 is RMB 242,800—only RMB 3,000 lower than its pre-sale price. He added that this pricing aligns with the company's expectations, offering a reasonable gross margin, though not an exceptionally high one. Qin also emphasized that it would be meaningless to initially set a significantly inflated pre-sale price only to slash it by tens of thousands of yuan at the official launch.
