Sinopec has recently officially launched its independently developed "Aipao 103" racing-grade fuel, which boasts a Research Octane Number (RON) exceeding 103 and has been designated as the official fuel for the China Rally-Raid Championship (formerly known as the China Taklimakan Rally). This product marks China’s first domestically developed racing fuel, breaking the long-standing reliance on imported fuels for top-tier motorsport events and filling a critical gap in the domestic supply of high-performance racing fuels. The fuel features four key technical attributes: First, it optimizes component formulation to enhance evaporation and combustion efficiency, thereby improving power output and throttle response. Second, its octane rating is five points higher than that of commercially available 98-octane gasoline, effectively suppressing engine knock and ensuring stable operation of high-compression engines. Third, it contains no metallic additives such as lead or manganese, resulting in minimal combustion deposits and compliance with stringent environmental requirements for motorsports. Fourth, it includes anti-static additives that reduce the risk of static electricity during high-flow refueling, significantly enhancing safety during race-day fueling operations.
