On May 16, Leapmotor—a brand under NIO—officially commenced nationwide deliveries of its L80 mid-to-large five-seater SUV. The first batch delivery ceremony was held at NIO’s Advanced Manufacturing Plant No. 1 in Hefei, with simultaneous delivery launches in 15 cities including Beijing, Hangzhou, and Chengdu. The L80 is available in three trim levels: Pro, Max+, and Ultra+, with a starting purchase price of RMB 242,800. With NIO’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) battery rental option, the starting price drops to RMB 156,800. Customers who place a non-refundable deposit and lock their configuration by May 31, 2026 (inclusive) will be eligible for exclusive launch benefits worth up to RMB 57,000. Additionally, first-time owners of Leapmotor, NIO, or Firefly vehicles who repurchase and take delivery of a new vehicle will receive special loyalty points. The Leapmotor L80 offers six exterior colors: Ridge Brown, Dawn Silver, Silent Black, Snow Peak White, Nightfall Purple, and the exclusive new shade “Summit Green.” Interior themes include Cassia Yellow, Cloud Beige, Obsidian Black, and Moon Banyan Brown. The vehicle measures 5,145 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. The L80 is equipped with NIO’s self-developed “Shenji NX9031,” the world’s first 5nm automotive-grade intelligent driving chip, and China’s first autonomous-driving-oriented “NIO World Model (NWM).” It features a standard 17.2-inch 3K immersive central display and comes with noise-reducing electric soft-close doors across all trims. Powering the L80 is a standard 925V high-performance permanent magnet synchronous rear motor, delivering 340 kW of power while weighing just 79 kg and occupying only 37 liters of volume. The rear-wheel-drive version achieves an energy consumption of 14.3 kWh per 100 km and offers a CLTC-rated range of 615 km. The all-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The vehicle also features an agile U-turn function with a minimum turning radius of 5.7 meters.
