At the 18th Xuanyuan Automotive Blue Book Forum, Feng Xingya, Party Secretary and Chairman of GAC Group, responded to the nickname "King of Ride-Hailing Vehicles" given to the AION brand. He stated that ride-hailing vehicles are considered means of production—tools used for profit—and thus demand exceptionally high vehicle quality. Only models that can deliver higher earnings for drivers will win their preference. In his view, the title "King of Ride-Hailing Vehicles" precisely reflects the high quality of AION products. Feng emphasized that ride-hailing drivers operate their vehicles for extended hours daily and are therefore highly sensitive to performance metrics such as comfort, fatigue reduction, and energy consumption. As a result, they represent one of the most demanding user groups for automobiles. GAC Group plans to apply insights gained from ride-hailing operations to the development and refinement of vehicles across all its brands, enhancing overall reliability, comfort, and safety. Additionally, Feng noted that the current penetration rate of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in county-level markets remains below 20%, while first-tier cities continue to offer rapidly expanding market opportunities. He also stressed that internationalization has become a critical strategic direction for automakers, requiring companies to simultaneously advance their domestic and global market presence.
