FAW Hongqi recently released official images of its new H5 sedan and announced that the vehicle will officially launch on May 20. The new model features upgrades in design, intelligent cockpit, and driver-assistance technologies, equipped with the Lingxi Smart Cockpit and Hongqi’s Sinan Intelligent Driving System. Exterior styling retains the signature vertical-bar chrome front grille, while the headlight clusters are redesigned with “Dragon Whisker” LED daytime running lights. A new illuminated Hongqi emblem has been added, giving the front fascia a design language closer to that of the flagship Hongqi H9. The side profile maintains an elegant, elongated proportion and is fitted with 18-inch “Victory Bloom” gunmetal-gray multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, “Phoenix Tail” taillights create visual harmony with the front-end design. Inside, the cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, and a head-up display (HUD). Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P chip, the infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, Carlink, and AI-powered voice interaction. The intelligent driving system offers highway navigation pilot assist, urban memory-based navigation pilot assist, and path-tracing reverse functionality. Powertrain options include three configurations: a 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 124 kW (169 hp) and 258 N·m of torque, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission; a 2.0L turbocharged engine delivering 165 kW (224 hp) and 340 N·m, mated to an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission; and a 1.5L turbo plug-in hybrid variant.
