On May 18, BYD's Yangwang U9 received an OTA update to version V2.1.0, introducing four new features and optimizing seven user experience aspects. New features include: - An omnidirectional dashcam supporting switchable front, rear, left, and right surround-view perspectives; - Sentry Mode high-risk videos are automatically uploaded to the cloud after anonymizing faces and license plates, allowing users to view and download videos from the past seven days via the Yangwang Auto or BYD apps; - Sentry Mode videos can now be exported locally or to a USB drive; - Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos can be quickly transferred to a smartphone by connecting to the vehicle’s Wi-Fi hotspot, without consuming mobile data. Optimizations include: - Removal of gear-position detection from the driver’s seat welcome logic, so shifting gears no longer interrupts the welcome sequence; - Expanded voice control coverage for vehicle settings; - Improved door-opening warning and detection logic to enhance the smoothness and safety of power-operated doors; - Enhanced digital key usability and compatibility; - Renamed “Driving Behavior” feature to “Trip Report”; - Adjusted system UI displays and text prompts; - Refined standby mode to reduce redundant vehicle operations.
