Currently, negotiations regarding the strategic realignment of Audi’s operations in China are still ongoing, and no final decision has been reached. According to reports, Audi may announce related adjustment plans soon. Under the proposed arrangement, FAW Audi would be responsible for all internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles bearing the four-ring logo, while SAIC Audi would focus on the AUDI brand—a joint venture established in 2024 by SAIC Motor and Audi—which has already launched two all-electric models, the E5 and E7X. Additionally, Audi and SAIC Motor signed an agreement on April 17 to deepen their strategic cooperation, under which the two parties plan to establish an Audi Innovation Technology Center in Shanghai, led by AUDI AG, focusing on R&D for intelligent electrification technologies and end-to-end vehicle development for smart, connected cars.
