Xiaomi Auto has brought in China Aviation Lithium Battery (CALB) as a battery supplier for its new sub-brand "SKY NOMAD" (Xun Tian). This sub-brand originated from an internal project codenamed "Kunlun" and has now become an independent operation, focusing on the family-oriented extended-range SUV market—differentiating itself from Xiaomi's main brand, which emphasizes pure electric vehicles, technology, and performance. The battery sourcing for Xiaomi’s third vehicle model was finalized in early 2024. Initially, Sunwoda was selected as the primary supplier, with CALB later added as a secondary supplier. Currently, Sunwoda supplies 60% of the batteries, while CALB accounts for the remaining 40%. Since August 2025, Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. has filed multiple trademark applications for "Xun Tian" and "SKYNOMAD," covering international classes such as office supplies, machinery, and leather goods. Some of these trademarks have already been successfully registered. On May 5, 2024, low-camouflage road-test spy photos of SKY NOMAD’s first extended-range full-size SUV—internally codenamed "Kunlun N3"—surfaced online. The vehicle is expected to launch in the second half of 2024. It features bold, angular lines, a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, and sharp headlight designs, showcasing a styling language distinctly different from Xiaomi’s SU7 and YU7 models.
