On May 19, the Xiaomi YU7 GT set a new lap record for SUVs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7 minutes, 34.931 seconds. The lap was driven by Ren Zhoucan, Xiaomi’s chief test driver and vehicle engineer, who became the first Chinese driver to receive official Nürburgring lap time certification. Xiaomi stated that the YU7 GT is positioned as a sports-car-grade SUV designed for long-distance travel, and its participation in the Nürburgring test aimed to validate the vehicle's mechanical performance and handling stability under complex road and weather conditions.
