Magna has recently secured a Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DMS/OMS) program award from a European automaker. The system integrates sensing technology, supplemental lighting, electronic control hardware, and software algorithms into a single module, seamlessly incorporated into the vehicle’s interior rearview mirror with an in-mirror concealed camera architecture. This design enables advanced sensing capabilities without requiring additional visible hardware or cabin redesign. Built on Magna’s proprietary DMS algorithm software, the system supports centralized vehicle computing platforms and offers strong scalability across global vehicle platforms and regional markets. The camera placement aligns with the driver’s natural line of sight, ensuring stable monitoring performance and precise recognition, while software updates enable continuous feature enhancements. Magna also provides comprehensive system-level integration support, compatible with both centralized and software-defined vehicle architectures.
