BYD recently released official images of the Seal 08's premium "Liu Guang Silver" paint option and announced that the new model will launch in Q2. Based on a silver-gray foundation, this finish incorporates a pearlescent effect achieved through BASF clear-coat technology, creating dynamic light reflections that shift with viewing angles. Exterior-wise, the Seal 08 adopts BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language, featuring a closed-off front grille, wave-pattern daytime running lights, and a sculpted hood with raised character lines. The side profile showcases a fastback silhouette, complemented by semi-flush door handles and large multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, a 600-mm-wide “Chasing Waves Galaxy” full-width taillight spans the tailgate, accented with wave-inspired elements on both sides that echo the front fascia. The vehicle measures 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,505 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. Inside, the cabin continues the Ocean Aesthetics theme, equipped with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a floating central touchscreen, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The front seats are dual zero-gravity seats offering ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Additional features include welcome lighting carpets, power-closing doors on all four sides, double-glazed acoustic glass throughout, eight magnetic expansion ports, and an automotive-grade tissue dispenser. Powertrain options include both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) variants. The BEV version is built on an 800V platform, featuring BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and Megawatt Flash Charging technology. The all-wheel-drive variant delivers a peak output of 510 kW and offers up to 900 km of CLTC-rated range. The PHEV variant pairs a 1.5T engine with a dual-motor system for a combined maximum output of 400 kW, backed by a 45.36 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering 400 km of CLTC pure-electric range and a total combined range of 1,000 km. Additionally, the Seal 08 will be equipped with rear-wheel steering and BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride A intelligent air suspension system.
