As of the end of April 2026, China had a total of 21.955 million electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure units (chargers), representing a 47.4% year-over-year increase. Of these, public charging units numbered 4.907 million, up 29.6% year-over-year, with a total rated power capacity of 237 million kilowatts and an average power output of approximately 48.38 kilowatts per unit. Private charging units totaled 17.048 million, surging 53.5% year-over-year, with an installed electrical capacity of 149 million kVA.
