Key personnel leading Xiaomi’s YU7 GT project include Product Director Wang Li (20 years of industry experience), Engineering Director Zhang Baohua (22 years of industry experience), Design Director Shin (16 years of industry experience), Rudolf Dittrich, General Manager of Xiaomi’s European R&D Center, and Claus-Dieter Groll, Head of Vehicle Dynamics at the European R&D Center. Since early last year, Xiaomi Auto has implemented a “Iron Triangle” project management system, wherein the product, engineering, and design directors jointly oversee entire vehicle development projects as a core team. The YU7 GT is equipped with the next-generation Hyper Motor V8s EVO, an enhanced version of the V8s featuring: a maximum rotational speed of 28,000 rpm; a self-developed silicon carbide power module delivering a 5.9% increase in power output; and ultra-thin 0.15mm silicon steel stator and rotor laminations achieving an efficiency of 98.38%. The vehicle offers multiple carbon fiber optional components, including side mirrors, headlight trim, rear spoiler and ducktail, sport steering wheel, dashboard trim, door sill plates, and air duct outlets. Buyers can also opt for a 24K gold carbon fiber emblem paired with a black-and-gold exterior finish. The interior features 2.3 square meters of Alcantara upholstery. Additionally, the car is available with 21-inch five-spoke double-layer forged wheels, each requiring 11 hours of machining to produce. The YU7 GT will officially launch today at 19:00, positioned as a premium product targeting elite professionals of the era, with a price tag described as “slightly on the expensive side.”
