On May 20, Hongqi unveiled the refreshed Hongqi H5, with an official manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from RMB 121,000 to RMB 151,000. Five variants are available, featuring comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, interior quality, intelligence, and comfort. Exterior styling continues Hongqi’s signature bold and composed design language. The vehicle measures 4,988 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height—nearly five meters long—with a sleek fastback silhouette. A new exterior color, “Azure Radiance,” has been added. Inside, the cabin features a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a floating 15.6-inch center touchscreen, and an AR-HUD (augmented reality head-up display) on higher trims. The traditional gear shifter has been replaced by an electronic steering-column-mounted shifter, while physical buttons and knobs remain on the center console for ease of use. Ventilation and heating functions are standard across all seats. The top trim offers front-seat eight-point pneumatic massage (with three intensity levels and modes), seat cushions with 20 mm additional soft foam padding and expanded coverage area, and a heated steering wheel covering approximately 70% of its surface area with two-level adjustability. Acoustic laminated glass is used for the front windows, and all four doors feature dual-layer sealing structures. The audio system includes a 12-speaker Dynaudio setup. In terms of intelligent technology, the new H5 is powered by Qualcomm’s 8155P chip built on a 7nm process, delivering a CPU computing power of 105K DMIPS. It supports seamless interaction among three displays: a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, and a 10.98-inch W-HUD. The infotainment system integrates Doubao AI large language model capabilities, enabling execution of up to 10 commands within 30 seconds, fuzzy semantic recognition (e.g., automatically adjusting climate settings upon hearing “I feel a bit cold”), and proactive emotional interaction. It also supports Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and Carlink, offering seamless smartphone connectivity with mainstream brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. The intelligent driving system, named Hongqi Sinan Pilot, offers highway navigation assist capable of automatic ramp entry/exit, lane changes, overtaking maneuvers, and tunnel navigation. Future OTA updates will add support for ETC toll gate passage. Urban Memory Navigation can learn up to 10 fixed routes (each up to 100 km long) for point-to-point autonomous driving. Reverse Tracking can memorize a 120-meter path and autonomously retrace it. Full-scenario parking assistance includes automatic parking-in, remote parking, valet parking, and multi-level memory parking (supporting routes up to 3 km long and storing up to 20 routes). The digital Bluetooth key automatically connects to the vehicle within a 30-meter range, and the mobile app enables remote control of 20 functions, including air conditioning, seat heating, and window operation.
