On May 21, at the Xiaomi YU7 GT "Human-Vehicle-Home" Full Ecosystem New Product Launch Event, Song Gang, Vice President of Xiaomi Auto, made his first public appearance. Previously serving as the head of Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory, Song joined Xiaomi Auto in April 2024. He stated that through discussions with Lei Jun and the team, he was deeply impressed by Xiaomi's passion and dedication to its automotive business. He noted that Xiaomi shares similarities with Tesla in its open culture and relentless pursuit of technical excellence—key reasons behind his decision to join the company. Currently overseeing intelligent manufacturing, Song highlighted that Xiaomi Auto’s production and delivery system has significantly improved compared to a year ago. He added that the company will introduce advanced manufacturing philosophies, systems, and technologies to further enhance production efficiency and upgrade its supply chain capabilities.
