On May 22, Foxtron Vehicle Technologies—a joint electric vehicle (EV) venture between Hon Hai (Foxconn) and Yulon—announced its official entry into the consumer-focused vehicle market. The company had previously unveiled its first all-electric crossover SUV, the FOXTRON BRIA, at the end of last year, and on May 20 launched its second consumer-market model, the FOXTRON CAVIRA, simultaneously opening pre-orders. The FOXTRON CAVIRA is a midsize all-electric SUV designed specifically for Taiwan’s road conditions. It measures 4.7 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm and offers a combined front-and-rear trunk capacity of 692 liters. The vehicle comes equipped with an ADAS driver-assistance system featuring remote parking assist and intelligent voice control. Inside, it features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central infotainment display, paired with a SEAS premium audio system. Notably, the CAVIRA also offers a class-exclusive dual V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) external power supply function, delivering up to 1,900 watts of output. The CAVIRA is available in two powertrain variants: the rear-wheel-drive, single-motor Emerge and the all-wheel-drive, dual-motor Pioneer. The Emerge variant delivers a WLTC-rated range of 578 km, with a total motor output of 186 kW (249 hp), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. It has a curb weight of 2,165 kg and comes standard with 18-inch wheels, priced at NT$1,239,000 (approximately RMB 267,000). The Pioneer variant offers a WLTC range of 538 km, with a total motor output of 349 kW (468 hp) and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds.
