On May 22, Great Wall Motor’s WEY brand CEO Zhao Yongpo drove the V9X flagship SUV to complete the world’s first extreme test involving simultaneous blowouts of both wheels on one side at a speed of 221.8 km/h. The test vehicle, measuring nearly 5.3 meters in length and weighing over 2.8 metric tons (curb weight), carried four occupants during the trial. Developed on the Guiyuan S platform, the V9X can detect a tire blowout within 200 milliseconds and instantly activate a multi-system coordinated control mechanism to maintain vehicle stability. The SUV features the Super Hi4 hybrid architecture, integrating a 2.0T engine, a dedicated 4-speed hybrid transmission, an 800V high-voltage platform, and 6C ultra-fast charging technology. Equipped with an 80 kWh battery pack, it delivers “dual four-second” acceleration performance—achieving 0–100 km/h in under five seconds whether fully charged or in a low-state-of-charge condition. The V9X also boasts a high-strength alloy body structure, an integrated cabin-and-driving AI intelligent system, and a seven-dimensional comprehensive safety system, endowing it with exceptional high-speed blowout stability control capabilities.
