BYD will hold an intelligent technology strategy launch event on May 28, where it is expected to unveil new breakthroughs in intelligent technologies. This marks another major technological announcement following its March 5 launch of the second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology. The new Blade Battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reach 97% in nine minutes. BYD also announced that owners of vehicles equipped with this battery will receive one year of complimentary flash charging privileges. BYD has assembled a dedicated advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) team of over 5,000 engineers and plans to invest more than RMB 100 billion in intelligent technologies in the coming years. By December 2025, cumulative deliveries of vehicles equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye” intelligent driving system are projected to exceed 2.5 million units, forming China’s largest vehicle-cloud database. The system currently generates over 150 million kilometers of valid driving data daily, covering a wide range of road and traffic scenarios. In AI algorithms, BYD is advancing an “AI agent + world model” approach, leveraging virtual scenario training to handle rare edge cases and establishing a closed-loop iteration system spanning data collection, R&D, and real-world deployment.
