NIO Legal Department recently issued a statement highlighting the widespread circulation of false and defamatory information targeting the company online. The company has preserved relevant evidence of these infringements and filed a report with public security authorities, which has been officially accepted for investigation. The statement noted that certain online accounts fabricated false claims regarding the identity of actors featured in promotional videos for NIO’s sub-brand ONVO. Despite NIO’s repeated clarifications through multiple channels, accounts such as “Fat Swan of Petersburg” continue to repost and disseminate this misinformation, launching malicious attacks against both NIO and the involved actors. Additionally, some online accounts have published articles across multiple platforms citing inaccurate sales figures and inventing data about battery swap station malfunctions, thereby attacking NIO’s battery swap infrastructure and its multi-brand business strategy. These articles have been widely circulated, causing significant harm to the company. NIO emphasized its commitment to pursuing legal accountability and urged the public not to believe or spread rumors. The company also announced that its new flagship tech-luxury SUV, the ES9, will officially launch on May 27 and is now open for test drive reservations.
