On May 23, a vice president of XPeng Motors publicly addressed online rumors, stating that reports claiming "the surge in sales of the XPeng G9 has caused a delay in the launch of the MONA model at Wuhan production facility" are false. He emphasized that the MONA L03 project remains unaffected. The flagship XPeng G9 SUV was launched on the evening of May 20, with a limited-time promotional price range of RMB 269,800 to RMB 349,800—significantly lower than its previously announced starting pre-sale price of RMB 399,800 for the all-wheel-drive flagship variant. The company reported the next day that the model received 24,863 firm orders within 12 hours of its debut. Meanwhile, XPeng’s first MONA-branded SUV, the L03, has completed its filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The vehicle adopts the same family design language as the M03 and is positioned as a sporty fastback SUV, scheduled for launch within 2026. According to the filing data, the L03 measures 4,650/4,672 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. It offers two curb weight options (1,855/1,875 kg and 1,920/1,942 kg), a top speed of 180 km/h, and tire sizes of either 225/60R18 or 245/45R20. The vehicle is rated for five passengers. Powering the L03 is a TZ200XY01D03X electric motor supplied by Luxshare Intelligent Tech (Changshu) Co., Ltd., delivering a rated power of 70 kW and a peak power of 183 kW. The battery pack is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit provided by CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery). Optional features include a front logo, front binocular camera, door emblems, fender-mounted camera trim pieces, rear badging, side-view cameras on the exterior mirrors, rear bumper-mounted rear-view camera, rear spoiler, side skirt trim, front and rear bumper decorative elements, wheels, and brake calipers.
