The BYD Song Ultra DM-i will officially launch on May 28, featuring BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology. It will be offered with two battery pack options—26.6 kWh and 38 kWh—delivering CLTC-rated all-electric ranges of 205 km and 310 km, respectively. The vehicle’s exterior design is nearly identical to the Song Ultra EV launched in March this year, and configuration differences between the two models are expected to be minimal. The Song Ultra EV measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. Rear legroom reaches 986 mm, while the trunk offers 730 liters of cargo space and the front trunk (frunk) provides an additional 150 liters. The front seats can be folded flat to create a 1.8-meter-long “bed mode.” All trims come standard with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a four-zone voice interaction system. Higher-end variants add a “Queen’s Co-Pilot” seat (featuring ventilation, heating, leg rest, and massage functions), an integrated smart refrigerator with heating and cooling capabilities, a 16-speaker “Sky Sound” audio system, dual wireless phone charging pads, and multifunctional expansion ports, while retaining physical buttons and knobs. Higher trims can be optionally equipped with the “God’s Eye B” LiDAR package, which includes 27 sensors and supports urban and highway navigation assistance, multi-scenario automated parking, narrow-lane maneuvering (with only 60 cm clearance beyond the vehicle’s width), and autonomous U-turns. Future OTA updates will enable the Cloud Ride C+ predictive suspension system. The Song Ultra EV features a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-drive layout across all variants, with a motor delivering a maximum output of 270 kW and a top speed of 210 km/h. It will be available in six exterior colors and two interior color schemes.
