Volvo EX90 and ES90 will officially launch at the Greater Bay Area Auto Show on May 29, following the start of pre-sales on April 15. Both models are built on Volvo’s SPA2 pure-electric platform, support an 800V high-voltage architecture, and offer a CLTC-rated range exceeding 700 km. The EX90 is Volvo’s flagship all-electric SUV, with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 539,900 to RMB 609,900. It is available in two variants: Dual-Motor AWD Plus and Ultra. The ES90 is the brand’s flagship electric sedan, priced between RMB 429,900 and RMB 499,900 during pre-sales, offered in Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range Plus and Dual-Motor AWD High-Performance Ultra trims. The EX90 measures 5,037 mm in length, 1,964 mm in width, and either 1,747 mm or 1,942 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,985 mm. Its exterior features a closed-off front fascia, Thor’s Hammer HD Pixel LED headlights, an active grille, and split-type taillights, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.29 Cd. Inside, it comes equipped with a 9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 13.2-inch head-up display (HUD), all powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Standard features include an electrochromic panoramic roof and eco-friendly interior materials. The cabin offers a 7-seat layout, with heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats and heated rear seats. It also features a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins 7.1.4 immersive audio system. The front trunk offers 46 liters of storage, while the rear trunk provides 384 liters of standard capacity, expandable up to 2,135 liters. The ES90 shares the same front-end design as the EX90, featuring split C-shaped taillights and vertical light clusters at the rear, along with a liftback tailgate that delivers 409 liters of trunk space. Its interior also includes a 9-inch instrument panel and a 14.5-inch center display, with a full-width air vent design. All ES90 trims come standard with heated steering wheel and heated/ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers. Higher trims add front seat massage functionality, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, DUS Driver Understanding System, Full-Cabin Occupant Sensing System, and ASL air purification technology. Both models are equipped with Volvo’s Pilot Assist navigation-assisted driving system, which uses a vision-only approach and is powered by NVIDIA Orin chips delivering 254 TOPS of computing power. In the EX90’s dual-motor AWD system, the Plus variant delivers a maximum output of 330 kW and peak torque of 670 N·m, while the Ultra version produces 500 kW and 870 N·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. All EX90 variants are fitted with a 106 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery pack, intelligent dual-chamber air suspension, CCD continuously variable damping shock absorbers, and a 4C adaptive chassis capable of adjusting damping 500 times per second. The ES90’s rear-wheel-drive variant features a single motor with 245 kW of power, paired with a 92 kWh battery. The AWD high-performance version combines 500 kW of total system output with a 106 kWh battery, achieving a 0–100 km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds. All ES90 models come standard with front and rear FSD continuously variable damping shock absorbers, while higher trims add dual-chamber air suspension.
