Leapmotor unveiled its first MPV model, the D99, at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show on May 29, with plans to launch it in the middle of this year. The vehicle is available in five exterior paint colors and features a bullet-nose design. Its front fascia is equipped with split-type, million-pixel DLP projection headlights, while the body incorporates hidden door handles. At the rear, the taillights seamlessly integrate with the rear window and feature an ISD intelligent interactive light curtain. The D99 measures 5,280 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,900 mm (or 1,880 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Inside, it adopts a cabin-integrated central domain control architecture and is powered by an on-device large AI model for its intelligent cockpit, supporting multiple interior space configurations. These include folding the first and second-row seats completely flat to form a bed, reclining the third-row seats 180 degrees into a bed, fully stowing the third-row seats into the trunk, and rotating the second-row seats by 90° or 180°. In terms of powertrain, the D99 will be offered in both extended-range and all-electric variants. The extended-range version is built on an 800V high-voltage extended-range platform, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) battery-chassis integration technology, paired with an 80.3 kWh battery pack. The all-electric variant employs a full-stack 1,000V electric drive system and is equipped with CATL’s 115 kWh super hybrid battery cells.
