On May 27, Volant Aviation completed a Series C+ financing round of nearly RMB 1 billion. This marks the company’s second major funding within a month, following a USD 300 million round closed at the end of April. The latest round was led by China Life Sci-Tech Fund, with participation from Shanghai Minjin Investment, NIO Capital, Cornerstone Capital, and returning investor China Internet Investment Fund. China Renaissance and Gaorh Capital acted as financial advisors, with Gaorh Capital serving as the company’s long-term financial advisor. Dong Ming, Founder and CEO of Volant Aviation, stated that the proceeds will primarily support critical activities such as flight testing and certification processes, while also leveraging shareholder resources to accelerate compliant commercial operations. Recently, the company’s self-developed VE25-100 commercial passenger eVTOL successfully completed full-scale low-speed wind tunnel tests at the Aerodynamics Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). All performance metrics met expectations, significantly advancing the timeline for flight testing and certification. To date, Volant Aviation has secured over 1,900 global orders, approximately one-third of which are from international customers, representing total order value exceeding RMB 47.5 billion. The company has already received nearly RMB 100 million in deposits. Key customers include China Southern General Aviation, Asia Jet, and ABC Financial Leasing. According to plan, the company’s first aircraft model is expected to obtain its Type Certificate (TC) in 2027, paving the way for large-scale commercial deliveries thereafter.
