Dongfeng Honda sold over 850,000 vehicles in 2020, with gasoline-powered models like the CR-V and Civic enjoying strong market demand. By 2025, however, its annual sales had dropped to 325,800 units—a decline of more than 60% from its peak. This sales slump stems from multiple factors: frequent engine and transmission issues that have not been effectively resolved; slow progress in electrification and relatively low R&D efficiency; weakened quality control leading to increased assembly defects; and significant shortcomings in its after-sales service system, negatively impacting overall customer experience.
