On May 27, 2024, during the "2026 China Automotive Dealer Conference," the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) officially announced the establishment of dedicated sub-associations for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche dealers, each holding its inaugural meeting. The formation of these sub-associations was approved by the association’s board of directors and ratified by a vote of member representatives, following compliant procedures. CADA stated that it will continue advancing the development of specialized sub-associations for luxury brands, with Audi and Jaguar Land Rover sub-associations already included in upcoming preparatory plans. China’s automotive industry is currently undergoing a critical transformation period, marked by intensifying competition in the luxury vehicle segment and mounting challenges for traditional dealership models—including inventory pressure, adjustments to commercial policies, and imbalanced profit structures. Against this backdrop, CADA has established brand-specific sub-associations to create a higher-level, more efficient, and more professional communication and service platform, aiming to break down communication barriers between manufacturers and dealers and foster equal dialogue and constructive interaction. The core functions of these sub-associations center on “communication, sharing, and empowerment”: 1) Establishing a regular, equitable communication channel between brand dealers and OEMs; 2) Collectively voicing and driving solutions to common dealer concerns regarding commercial policies, inventory management, and profitability models; 3) Participating in the research and formulation of operational and service standards to regulate market practices and strengthen industry self-discipline; 4) Organizing industry training, experience-sharing sessions, and market research to provide professional support for dealers’ transformation and upgrading.
