On the evening of May 28, BYD announced a one-year urban navigation safety guarantee service for vehicles equipped with the "Tianshen Eye" A and B systems. The following day, an owner of a Denza Z9 GT posted on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) that their vehicle had scraped against the car ahead while using the CNOA urban navigation feature, with no emergency evasive action triggered throughout the incident—requiring manual braking intervention by the driver. The vehicle, a Flash Charge version launched in March 2024, had already been upgraded to the Tianshen Eye 5.0 system and was eligible for the guarantee coverage. After the accident, the owner contacted BYD customer service. On the afternoon of May 30, BYD completed a technical inspection, confirming that the incident occurred during compliant use of the urban navigation function and thus met the criteria for the guarantee. BYD agreed to fully reimburse all direct economic losses, including repair costs. The entire claims process was completed within 24 hours, and the owner described it as efficient and smooth. According to the policy, the guarantee covers direct economic losses borne by the vehicle owner, including vehicle repairs, third-party property damage, and personal injury compensation, with no payout cap and no impact on the following year’s commercial insurance premium. For new vehicle buyers, coverage begins on the delivery date; existing owners who upgrade via OTA to Tianshen Eye 5.0 also receive one year of coverage. The guarantee entitlement card is automatically issued to the BYD App within 24 hours—no manual claim required. The service is not limited to the first owner or user but excludes commercial/for-hire vehicles. Users can file a claim through the BYD App, the “Dynasty/Ocean” mini-program, or the customer service hotline 950858, and must submit materials including five-angle dashcam footage, an official accident report, on-site photos, and identification documents. Users are also advised to first report the incident to their insurer and withdraw the insurance claim only after BYD confirms guarantee eligibility. This policy applies exclusively to the CNOA urban navigation function; other driver-assistance features such as ACC, ICC, and HNOA are not covered. Before first use of these functions, users must complete mandatory knowledge learning and a quiz within the BYD App.
