On June 2, Qijing Auto announced that its production model, the Qijing GT7, completed a full-lap time attack on the 99-bend section of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, achieving a lap time of 9 minutes and 29.14 seconds—setting a new record for production cars on this route. The vehicle used in the challenge was in stock, factory-original condition with no modifications. The 99-bend stretch of Tianmen Mountain spans approximately 11 kilometers and features an elevation drop exceeding 1,100 meters. Renowned for its dense sequence of corners, slippery surfaces, and narrow cliffside roads, it is widely regarded as one of China’s most demanding mountain road test routes. During this challenge, the Qijing GT7 successfully navigated four extreme scenarios: the waterfall section with wet, uphill climbs; the cliff-hugging narrow “wall-hanging” segment; the tightly spaced hairpin bends around “Cake Mountain”; and the final sprint approaching Tianmen Cave. Built on Huawei’s Qiankun Chitu platform, the GT7 is equipped with the HUAWEI XMC digital chassis controller, enabling millisecond-level coordination across six core systems: drive, braking, steering, suspension, body control, and thermal management. The car debuts with a class-exclusive “Mountain Drive Mode,” optimized for continuous corners, uphill/downhill gradients, and extended descents, complemented by dedicated themes, simulated engine sound, ambient lighting, lap timing, and social sharing features. Powering the GT7 is an 800V high-voltage architecture. The triple-motor all-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.98 seconds. All trims come standard with a closed-loop dual-chamber air suspension, continuously adjustable dampers, and high-performance four-piston fixed calipers. Pre-sales for the Qijing GT7 commenced on May 29, offering four configurations with a pre-sale price range of RMB 219,900 to RMB 309,900. Official market launch is scheduled for within June.
