All-New Audi Q7 Set for Launch After 11+ Years of Current Model

Audi is set to unveil the all-new generation of the Q7. The current model, which made its global debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2015, has been in production for over 11 years and has undergone two mid-cycle updates. The new Q7 is expected to make its official debut in the coming days. On June 2, Audi released a teaser image revealing that the vehicle will feature the S Line package and be finished in a shade called “Alopias Blue.” Unlike many contemporary SUVs, the new Q7 does not adopt flush-fitting door handles but instead retains conventional ones. Its overall design is expected to closely resemble that of the larger Q9. Inside, the cabin is likely to follow the Q9’s design philosophy, featuring a multi-screen layout and “premium materials.” Audi has previously acknowledged that interior quality had declined in recent years and pledged to elevate its standards. The new Q7 will almost certainly continue to offer an optional third-row seat. Full powertrain details have not yet been disclosed, but the lineup is expected to include V6 gasoline and diesel engines. If Audi continues with the high-performance SQ7 variant, it may retain the V8 engine. Additionally, to comply with increasingly stringent global emissions regulations, the new Q7 will feature at least one plug-in hybrid version equipped with a large-capacity battery. Separately, Audi plans to launch an all-electric A2 this fall. As a second-generation model, it will replace the discontinued A1 and Q2, becoming the brand’s new entry-level offering.
