Recently, Qian Zuping—the individual behind the Douyin account "Xiao Qian Ge Shuo Che" (Bro Qian Talks Cars) and the Bilibili account "New Car Detective 974"—issued a public apology statement. He apologized to BYD Auto Co., Ltd. for publishing videos between 2023 and 2024 that damaged BYD's brand reputation without verifying the facts. Qian has deleted all related videos and expressed his willingness to deactivate the involved accounts to mitigate the negative impact. Qian stated that he comes from a remote county in Yunnan Province, earns a monthly salary of approximately RMB 2,000, has no stable high income, and engaged in no commercial profit-seeking activities. He deeply regrets his lack of legal awareness and earnestly requests BYD to withdraw its lawsuit. It is reported that several other self-media accounts have previously been sued and ordered to pay compensation for publishing false or defamatory content targeting BYD. Among them, "Long Zhu - Ji Che" was ordered in the second-instance trial to pay RMB 2.0187 million in damages; "Da Qin Jun Shan Tuan" was ordered in the first-instance trial to pay RMB 2.01 million; "Long Ge Jiang Dian Che" (Bro Long Talks EVs) was ordered in the second-instance trial to pay RMB 2 million; and "Wang Wukong Shuo Che" (Wukong Wang Talks Cars) was ordered to pay RMB 313,800.
